Twilight Meeting for Fruit Growers
Location: McCleafs Orchard, 104 W. Guernsey Road, Biglerville, PA

Topics: This is a wonderful opportunity to take a tour of a local orchard, meet fellow fruit growers and expand your knowledge. Description: MWA is pleased to announce an educational vineyard meeting at Big Cork Vineyards, followed by a casual dinner at the home of Randy and Jennifer Thompson. Ben Renshaw of 8 Chains North winery and grower of 15 years in Loudoun County, VA, will discuss mid-season pest control, with particular emphasis on Grape Berry Moth monitoring and control.  Ben will have his wines for tasting at the dinner and will talk about his wine making techniques and styles. We'll take a tour of Big Cork's vineyard, now in its second leaf.

Virginia Tech Cooperative Extension Vineyard Tour
Location: Stone Tower Winery & Willowcroft Farm Vineyards, Loudoun County
Directions: Stone Tower is located ~8 miles south of Leesburg, drive south from
Leesburg on Rt. 15, right onto Hogback Mountain Road, vineyard will be on the left
~1.5 miles. To Willowcroft- leave Stone Tower and take a left onto Hogback
continue ~1 mile and take a left at the T-intersection onto Mount Gilead Road,
Continue ~ 1.5 miles and Willowcroft Farm Vineyard will be on the right.
Time: 6:00 PM at Stone Tower Winery and 7:30 PM at Willowcroft Farm Vineyards (rain or shine)

Description: New Grape Grower Workshop offers an overview of commercial wine grape vineyard development into the second year including vineyard economics and grape marketing, equipment needs, the basics of site selection and preparation, planting and new vine care. With the information you gain from this workshop you are prepared to make a decision about whether or not to plant a vineyard. It provides a foundation upon which you can build your vineyard project if you decide to proceed. Much more learning and experience is needed before the first vine is planted.

The spray technology meeting on the 15th will include both classroom training and field demonstrations, and is targeting both wine grape producers and tree fruit (orchard) producers.
